ReB8 is a private tool for members of your club to stay in touch after a session. It is only for adults aged 21 and over who were checked in at that session. This page explains what ReB8 keeps and who can see it.
What ReB8 stores
- Your ReB8 profile: the display name you choose, how you want to be contacted (for example a Telegram or Instagram handle), an age range, a short memory jogger, and a photo if you add one.
- Your choices: who you tapped Interested on at each session, whether you appear when others browse, and whether you want match emails.
- Attendance: ReB8 uses the check-in records your club already holds to know which sessions you were at. It also shows the tag number you were given at a session, if one was recorded.
- Signing in: your email address and date of birth are checked against your club membership to confirm you attended. They are not copied into ReB8. We keep a short log of failed attempts (the email tried and a scrambled form of the network address) to stop people guessing. A sign-in cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days.
Who sees what
- Other members at the same session can see your card while that session is open (30 days after it ends): your display name, photo, age range, memory jogger, the kind of contact you chose, and your tag number. They cannot see your contact handle.
- Your contact handle is shown only to someone you both tapped Interested on. Nobody is told that you tapped them unless they tapped you too.
- Club organizers can see ReB8 activity for their events to run the service and respond to reports.
- You can hide your card from everyone at any time in My Profile. Your existing connections stay.
Missed Connections
Missed Connections lets you post a short description of someone you noticed at a session. Other members at that session can see it (or, if you add someone's tag number, only that person sees it). Nobody sees who wrote a post. If someone says it is them, you see their card first and choose whether to go ahead; they then see yours and choose too, and contact details are shared only if you both say yes. If you pass, nobody is told. Club organizers can see who wrote each post so they can remove posts and deal with abuse.
If you keep "Email me when someone connects back" on, we email you when a connection is made, when someone claims one of your Missed Connections posts, and when a claim you made moves forward. These never include a name or contact details. We also send one reminder per session, about a week before ReB8 closes for it, to people who have not used it yet.
Who handles the data
We do not sell your information. ReB8 runs on services that store and deliver it for us: Supabase (database and photo storage), Cloudflare (hosting) and Resend (email).
Keeping and deleting
Your profile and connections stay until you or your club remove them. If your club membership record is deleted, your ReB8 profile and connections are deleted with it. To have your ReB8 profile removed sooner, or to ask what we hold about you, email spyder@mmrt.org. You can remove your photo yourself in My Profile.
